Does insurance cover the cost of the program?

This fee is outside of insurance. The joining fee is due in full the day you start the program and is not refundable. After the initial 6 month time period, you will be billed monthly to remain in the program. If Medicare is your insurer, there are certain aspects of the program that will require me to bill Medicare in addition to the fee. However, beyond the cost of the fee, you personally should not have additional costs for my services. I am out of network for all other insurance companies, and I will accept what your insurance pays without balance billing. There may be additional costs that you will incur with laboratory charges (can be billed to your insurance/Medicare or paid in cash) and medication costs (many of the medications are inexpensive, some are more costly, but covered by insurance). We will work with you to get appropriately priced medications to fit your metabolic needs.

Testimonials

“The program is amazing!! I dropped 16 pounds during and I am attempting to keep going :) I am a lifer with this program and the medicine... life-changing. I no longer obsess over food, I have control over what I eat, I make healthier choices, and it helped me get back to moving like I used to before COVID. I've always been very active, had a hard time sitting still. So now that I have more peace about eating and seeing the results that I am getting, I am able to make better choices all around. Having connection and accountability with others and you on this journey made all the difference in the world for my results. It gave me motivation, I felt like I was not alone and I looked forward to them every week. Seeing others succeed, all of us together, was priceless. And the journey was much easier as a team :) I've seen other programs for more that don't even compare (or offer as much) to what you are creating and doing for all of us. Especially as a doctor helping us to reach our goals. Seriously more than worth it!!”

“I think it was a great experience. Being able to hear everyone's feed back was very helpful. I think hearing other peoples trials and tribulations helped me get through difficult challenges along the way. I'm very very pleased at my outcome. I've lost 12 pounds and my goal is to lose 5 more, and I know I can do it.”

“I have lower weight and improved blood tests - a significant improvement in health factors and a reduction in health risks. The benefit is isn’t the weight loss, it is the general health improvement driven by the weight loss - its a means to an end. Also, reducing food intake hasn’t reduced my quality of life.”

About Me

I am triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Obesity Medicine. Obesity Medicine board certification requires competency in the treatment of obesity and the genetic, biologic, environmental, social, and behavioral factors contributing to obesity. Over the past 10+ years of being a physician, I’ve come to appreciate how impactful excess weight is on the metabolic, physical, and mental health of my patients. As a Geriatrician, I’ve also developed a deeper understanding that the most prominent diseases of aging—cancer, cardiovascular disease, and dementia—are all directly or indirectly impacted by obesity and its associated metabolic consequences. Despite its clear importance, there seemed to be a paucity of sustainable solutions for obesity. Advice was vague and impersonal: “eat less, move more.” Or, conversely, the advice was prescriptive and rigid-eat only “this” or only “that”. These plans rarely worked beyond the 3 months (or 3 days) someone could willpower through the latest fad plan. You may have tried and “failed” at several plans in the past. But here’s the truth: this isn’t a failure on your part by any means. Instead, it is a statement about the gimmicks of a diet and fitness industry that relies on your failure to pad its profits. When you ultimately can’t live off of juice cleanses or count points forever, the industry tries to make that failure about you, not them. Then, they move on to sell you on the next plan that isn’t sustainable. I made the commitment to do better for my patients. To do better for you. I dug deep into Obesity Medicine, entrenched myself in the science of weight, metabolism, and obesity-related diseases. It was humbling and empowering. Humbling because I learned so much more than I knew before, and this knowledge made my “eat less, move more” advice seem flimsy and naive. Empowering because I garnered a science-based way to help my patients lose weight in a sustainable way. And now, you can be one of those patients, too.
